Via Ercan
Ercan is North Cyprus’s airport near Nicosia. Direct scheduled flights there operate from cities in Turkey; from other countries you fly with a connection or an intermediate stop in Turkey.
From the airport the road follows the Nicosia ring road and runs through Güzelyurt to Lefke — about 78 km. You do not need to cross the dividing line.
Via Larnaca or Paphos
From the airports of the Republic of Cyprus you reach Lefke through one of the crossing points on the dividing line.
From Larnaca — by motorway to Nicosia, then through the Astromeritis–Zodia (Bostancı) crossing towards Güzelyurt: about 99 km.
From Paphos the shortest way is over the Troodos mountain roads to the Lefka–Apliki crossing: about 88 km and 2 h. By motorway via Limassol and Nicosia to the Astromeritis–Zodia crossing it is about 130 km and 2 h 20 min.
At the crossing point
- Take your passport: documents are checked on both sides.
- Car insurance from the south of the island usually does not cover the north, and you will not be let through without insurance documents. At some crossings, such as Agios Dometios in Nicosia, you can buy a policy for the north on the spot.
- Not every car hire company in the south allows driving to the north — check when you book.
- Crossing arrangements change — check them before you travel.
Transfers and car hire
From any of the three airports you reach Lefke by taxi, a pre-booked transfer or a hire car. The cost depends on the provider and the season — check it when you book. If you are planning to visit the club, write to us and we will suggest a route for your flight.
